19th September The National Festival of EL Behiera Governrate

The relation between England and Turkey went worse, and England wanted to beat Turkey in Egypt, so they took the chance of being Mohamed Ali chasing the Mamaleik which cause the weak in the internal affairs and dividing the lines to attack.

and then England has send  military expedition with it's leader General Frizer

and in this time Rasheed were under the rule of a brave governor called (Ali bek EL Salakley) which was knows with his enmity to the British. and under his command there were a force of 700 soldier. and it's known that Rasheed is one of the most important ports to Egypt.

then Frizer made a plan to take over Rasheed and moved from Alexandria with a force containing 2000 soldier, but the people of Rasheed didn't gave up and they beat Frizer with all his forces and it was an unforgettable lesson for the British army.

But Frizer wanted to erase the effect of this defeat, so he tried another time by sending another expedition under the leading of General Stewart, and the forces moved from Alexandria on the 3rd of April to Rasheed, and then it was the final fight which did not last more than three hours ending with a crushing defeat for the British forces

then the people of Rasheed and the near cities chased him after the defeat of Rasheed and El Hamam.

and in the 19th of September after six months of the arrival of the expedition to Alexandria's port they departed from all Egypt.

and it means that by defending it self Rasheed has defended all Egypt, so the day of the departure of the British became a national festival day for El Behiera celebrate it each year
